Dear Journal,

I watched the train arrive in anticipation as it came to a halt. Even with the 15 minutes of passengers, I didn’t see Lee. She was not in the train but at the entrance waiting for us. We were simply looking for the wrong train, as it turned out.

Lee in a black romper with multi-coloured polka dots, that certainly didn’t justify the weather. She, along with her mother scrambled into our car quickly for a ride back home. As soon as she came home, she received a warm welcome. Unfortunately, granny didn’t miss a beat after the welcoming and proceeded to embarrass me in front of her.

I rushed her into my room and gave her some lemonade. We sat across from each other, chatting and catching up.

The temple-like Church

Then we went to a church which was a fusion of Hindu and Christian look. It had Gopurams of a Hindu temple and a very traditionally Christian cross. It signified the unison of religions, we later found.

One of the doors
The intricate doorway
It is raining doors!

We marveled at the magnificence of the architecture and the carvings in the teak wood door. Historically speaking there was more than just the looks. Each spot had a different story. But all we focused was in the photographing the intricate details that went into each part.

Now, we are back home, drinking some lemonade and typing out our experience today as we plan for the foreseeable future.

See you tomorrow.

Love, Esther
