Have you ever seen any of the older women in your family taking time for themselves? At the least a little time to relax? To take some deep breaths? Or buy things for themselves without letting you know? Have you?
No. I haven’t either. I have always seen my father insisting my mom go and get something for her when she goes out every time. He urges her to at least get a cup of coffee and enjoy with her own company, but my mom denies it always. I have pondered about why they don’t really care about themselves and take a break from everything they do.
Self-care is something that needs to be practiced as a habit religiously. As as we run for our life’s needs, we also have to remember that we are here to live once and be kind with ourselves, as much as we tend to be with others.
While talking about self-care, there are some things that can be followed or done as far as possible once a week. Below activities are a few of them which I find interesting to practice on a regular basis.
To connect with people who share the same rapport:
To some extent, it is really hard to find people who share the same ideas as you. If you have such people in your life, be grateful for it and try spending time with them so you can always stay the way you are!

Reward yourself:
Have simple goals for a week or a month and reward yourself with what you desire as you complete them. This will keep you going without getting bored! Completed a book within a few days? It’s time for a reward!
Make a To-Do list:
Never have I known that a simple To-Do list will make me feel accomplished. Do you want to experience it? Make a list of everything you wanted to do on a specific day and strike it off as you complete it. The proud moment of looking at the paper that shows all done is really satisfying.
Some time to admire nature:
People are getting so busy with their work-life that they forget to experience what real life looks like. Halt all your work, move out and look at the sky, feel the breeze hitting your skin and all you need to do is RELAX!

Social Media Detox:
Though there are numerous reasons to be active in social networking, there are equally as many reasons to stay away from it. Start practicing social media detox to keep your mind away from negativity.
Finally, embrace yourself for who you are and what you can do with much love and care! After all, how you treat yourself shows how you respect yourself as a person.
