Exams
Dear Journal,
The next day I received the timetable for my exams. I was happy about the exam season ending soon but I learned that I had to stay home for another seven days. This was because of my Spellbee dates, which coincided with the start of my summer vacation. I didn’t dare to miss it though- it was the national level, after all.
This also meant that I would not be able to spend much time with Lee. So I was put into a dilemma.
The next day was so hectic that I didn’t have the time to even talk to her. Granny revealed that I will not be able to go to Chennai by then, and it upset me to no end. When I asked her pleadingly if I could go at a later date, however, she readily agreed.
That was enough to amp up my dampened spirits again and I informed Lee about the plan change. After all, it was just a see-you-later, not a goodbye. With her, it always is.
Love,
Esther.

Easter Day
Dear Journal,
Since Esther can’t come to visit until next month-who-knows-what-date, I am stuck all alone, bored out of my mind. I had thought about the fun we’d have on Easter together, but it was a bummer when she admitted that she wouldn’t be able to come to see me sooner.
But of course, we keep in contact through the phone. When I say contact…I mean A LOT. We practically messaged back and forth until sundown yesterday, taking small breaks. And to be honest, Esther is the master of excuses to cut short chats.
Then after supper, we created hashtags to goof around, made up new words, sent selfies so that we can add some virtual makeup to each other’s face, told each other jokes, made up games, and simply spent time being silly together.
Today morning she woke me up at 11:00 AM a major crime (I’m no morning person), considering the fact I went to bed at around 3:45 AM, after returning from the church’s Easter service.
I weaved a paper basket that I later painted brown. I added some hay to it and dropped in some chocolate eggs to feel festive and Esther dubbed me an art and crafts guru. It wasn’t much of an activity but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
We had a filling lunch and teased each other about how weird we were. Nothing more…we talked over the phone…and she had, since then, not seen my messages, so I guess she must’ve fallen asleep. I might do the same.
Love
Lee.
Will continue…
