Most of the educated youth are unemployable. They have poor entrepreneurial skills. They particularly lag when it comes to conceptualising. We need radical reform.
An educational revolution.
Even performance evaluation of teachers does not help. We need to make the best and brightest, as our teachers. Our kids are the future of this country. If we do not wake up to this reality, we will end up unrealising our demographic potential as well. The educational sector needs a complete revamp.
Let’s appoint teachers who ‘actually teach’. We need them to explain the concepts to our kids.
Online teaching helps. At least, we could monitor what the teachers teach. Accordingly, we could help our kids out. Teachers, you know, earn a lot. A regular income. And how shall we let them while away their time without doing their stipulated work? They need to make easy-to-understand PowerPoint presentations. We have technology these days. And this thing definitely needs an upgrade.
Sounds logical, isn’t it?
Are we overburdening our teachers?
Oh no! Why would we do that? We have great respect for teachers in this land of Dronacharya. It’s their duty to teach. We are helping the best we can.
Wait a second…
Didn’t they say that earlier as well? To our homemakers? The light of the house? The angels on Earth? The ones who would willingly commit Sati upon the funeral pyre of her husband.
And, what sort of angels are we looking for in our teachers, then?
The ones who would fall in love with books and self-immolate themselves in the pursuit of education? Or the ones who would fall in devotion to a teacher and religiously tread upon the prescribed path despite the Guru’s absence?
Wait. Wait. Wait.
You got me wrong.
We are not looking for angels.
We are looking for humans.
Simple, straightforward, hardworking ones.
The ones who do their job of ‘explaining’ perfectly.
The ones who are focused on climbing the ladder.
The men make a better job of it, compared to women.
So, how about this?
Let’s focus on vocational education and skill development.
It makes sense.
Would suit industry requirements as well.
Skill development is the need of the hour.
Then,
What about morality? Ethics? Value education?
Is that the job of a teacher? Then, what are parents for?
Leave it to them: The ones who dwell in magical islands.
What about the glass ceiling?
Which class are you talking about?
Now, we shall march ahead!
Towards prosperity!!
To be continued…
