I have always been that person who adores words, as much as I cherish anything that is adorable. Because for me, words are the ultimate form of beauty. It’s not about the phonetics nor the arrangements of the letters, but something about how that little collection of alphabets make us feel, understand and share the emotion. After all, like the Irish dramatist Samuel Beckett said, “Words are all we have.”
While talking about it, I would like to share a story that created an impact on me about words. There was a king who was looking for a minister who could be a prominent advisor to lead his kingdom. Like we all know, he also planned a task to complete, to select his country’s minister. Most of them arrived at the king’s arena and waited to participate in the competition. The King asked to display three look-alike dolls in the middle of the hall. He asked the people to find the difference or pick the odd one out from them.
All of them tried and couldn’t find any variation in them. One man who stood in the midst of the crowd came to the front and asked for a thin stick. He inserted a stick in one of the doll’s ears and found that it came through the other ear. He did the same to the other doll and it came out through the doll’s mouth. Finally, when he tried to insert it into the last one, it got stuck inside. He showed what he found to the King and said the one in which the stick got stuck, was the proper doll among them all. When the King asked for his explanation regarding his actions, he gave a prodigious one.
“I related the dolls to our lives, most of them take words from others and let them go through the other ear. Some among them, share all the wisdom and knowledge they get without implementing it in their own lives. Only a few of them will take it to their mind and work with it from their heart and they’re the ones who succeed and reach greater heights.
That is the power of words. To be precise, it gets more meaningful and beautiful when all of the things you share, write, or speak are positive. Let’s live with words and share only the beautiful ones which can lighten up someone’s day or their life.
I would like to end by saying that, Words can make you a warrior or a lover and it thoroughly depends on how you concatenate them all.
